इस दिवस, बच्चे तो एक ही व्यक्ति की प्रतीक्षा में होते हैं जिसका नाम है— सफेद दाढ़ी वाला सांता क्लॉज़। यह वो‌ प्रिय पात्र हैं जो प्रतिवर्ष अपनी झोली में रंग-बिरंगी कागजों में लपेटे हुए चॉकलेट्स, खिलौने या अन्य ढेरों उपहार लाता है, जैसे मानो वो बच्चों के आनन्द का खजा़ना ही लेकर आता हो।

क्रिसमस की रोचक कथा

क्रिसमस शब्द का अर्थ होता है ‘क्राइस्ट का मास’, और अब आइए जानते हैं प्रभु यीशु के जन्म की अनोखी कथा।

कहानी नासरत शहर में मरियम नाम की एक युवा यहूदी महिला के सामने देवदूत गेब्रियल के प्रकट होने से आरंभ होती है। मरियम, जिसकी सगाई यूसुफ नाम के एक व्यक्ति से हुई थी, उसे एक दिवस यह आश्चर्यजनक सूचना मिलती है कि, वह पवित्र आत्मा से एक बच्चे को जन्म देगी और यह बच्चा भगवान का पुत्र होगा।

आरंभ में मरियम उलझनों में खो जाती है, परंतु बाद में विश्वास के साथ वो इस बात को स्वीकार करती है। फिर यूसुफ को मरियम के गर्भवती होने का सत्य पता चलता है और वह चिंतित होकर अपनी सगाई तोड़ने का निर्णय लेता है। परंतु, तभी एक स्वर्गदूत उसे सपने में दिखाई देता है और उसे कहता है कि, मरियम का बच्चा पवित्र आत्मा से गर्भ में है और उसे विवाह कर लेना चाहिए।

फिर कथा आगे बढ़ती है‌। रोमन सम्राट सीज़र ऑगस्टस जनगणना का आदेश देता है, जिसमें सभी को अपने पैतृक नगरों में लौटकर अपना पंजीकरण कराना अनिवार्य होता है। यूसुफ, जो दाऊद घराने का होता है, वो जनगणना पूर्ण करने के लिए मरियम के साथ दाऊद के नगर बेथलहम जाता है। बेथलहम इसी कारण महत्वपूर्ण है क्योंकि, यह उस भविष्यवाणी को पूर्ण करता है कि मसीहा का जन्म दाऊद के नगर में होगा।

परंतु उस जनगणना के कारण, बेथलहम में भीड़भाड़ अधिक होती है। तभी कहीं पे जगह न मिलने के कारण यूसुफ और मरियम एक पशु आश्रय में शरण लेते हैं, जहाँ चरनी या चारा रखने का स्थान था, और वहीं पे यीशु का जन्म हुआ।

क्रिसमस मनाने का उद्देश्य

कोई भी धर्म हो या उत्सव, सब का संदेश एक— प्रेम, शांति, भाईचारा का सम्मान और उदारता और सद्भावना को प्रोत्साहन।

इससे समाज में विविध धर्म के लोग एकत्रित आकर उत्सव का आनंद ले सकते हैं, जिससे एकता बढ़ती है और धार्मिकता को लेकर आदर भावना ‌दृढ होती है। तो क्रिसमस मनाने के पीछे भी यही संदेश और उद्देश्य है।

क्रिसमस की ढेरों तैयारीयां और परंपराएं

🎄🌟 क्रिसमस ट्री सजावट:

सनोबर का पेड़ या फर का पेड़, जिसे आज हम क्रिसमस ट्री कहते है। यह हरा-भरा ट्री तैयार किया जाता है, जिसे रंग-बिरंगे लाल और सफेद लाइट्स से सजाते है, ताकि वह आकर्षक लगे। वैसे लाल और हरा क्रिसमस के पारंपरिक रंग हैं, क्योंकि लाल रंग ईसा मसीह के रक्त का प्रतीक है, और हरा अनंत जीवन का प्रतीक।

क्रिसमस ट्री सजाना यह भी एक परंपरा है और यह परंपरा जर्मनी में 16वीं सदी से चली आ रही है। तब लोग इस पेड को अपने घरों में लाते थे और मोमबत्तियों से सजाते थे।

क्रिसमस पर केक और कुकीज बनाएं जाते है, विविध प्रकार का स्वादिष्ट भोजन तैयार किया जाता है, लोग अपने प्रियजनों को भोजन का आमंत्रण देते हैं और साथ मिलकर भोजन का आनंद लेते हैं।

क्रिसमस पर जिंगल बेल, जिंगल बेल यह गीत सबको मंत्रमुग्ध कर देता है।

सांता क्लॉज़: बच्चों का जादूई मित्र

क्रिसमस का नाम आते ही सर्वप्रथम जो छवि आँखों के सामने आती है, वह है लाल पोशाक पहना हँसमुख सांता क्लॉज़।
सांता क्लॉज़ को सेंट निकोलस या फादर क्रिसमस के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। सांता क्लॉज़ की परंपरा की उत्पत्ति सेंट निकोलस की कथाओं से हुई है, जो एक ईसाई संत थे और अपने दान-पुण्य के कार्यों के लिए प्रसिद्ध थे। संत निकोलस का जन्म तीसरी सदी में जीसस की मृत्यु के 280 साल बाद मायरा नगर में हुआ था। बचपन में ही माता-पिता को खो देने के कारण उनकी प्रभु यीशु में आस्था थी। वे बड़े होकर ईसाई धर्म के धार्मिक नेता बने, जिन्हें बच्चों को उपहार देना अच्छा लगता था

The story begins when the angel Gabriel appeared before a young Jewish woman named Mary in the city of Nazareth. Mary, who was engaged to a man named Joseph, received the astonishing news one day that she would give birth to a child through the Holy Spirit, and this child would be the Son of God.

At first, Mary was confused, but later she accepted it with faith. Then Joseph discovered that Mary was pregnant and decided to end the engagement. But soon, an angel appeared to him in a dream and told him that Mary’s child was conceived through the Holy Spirit and that he should marry her.

The story continues—

Roman emperor caesar augustus ordered a census in which everyone had to return to their ancestral towns for registration. Joseph, who belonged to the house of David, went to Bethlehem with Mary. Bethlehem became significant as it fulfilled the prophecy that the Messiah would be born in the city of David.

But because of the census, Bethlehem was overcrowded. Finding no place to stay, Joseph and Mary took shelter in a stable, and there, in a manger, Jesus was born.

The Purpose of Christmas

No matter what the religion or festival, the message is the same—love, peace, brotherhood, generosity, and harmony.

Christmas too carries this message: it brings people of different faiths together to celebrate, which strengthens unity and mutual respect for each other’s beliefs.

A spruce or fir tree, which we now call the Christmas Tree, is decorated beautifully with red and white lights so that it looks attractive. Traditionally, red is the symbol of Christ’s blood, while green represents eternal life.
The tradition of decorating Christmas trees began in 16th-century Germany, when people brought trees into their homes and decorated them with candles.

🍰🍩 Delicious Food:
Cakes and cookies are prepared during Christmas, along with other special dishes. Families invite their loved ones and enjoy meals together.

Everyone loves gifts, from children to adults—and this too is a Christmas tradition.

Songs like “Jingle Bells” enchant everyone during Christmas.

Santa Claus: The Magical Friend of Children

When we hear the name “Christmas,” the first image that comes to mind is of cheerful Santa Claus, dressed in a red outfit.

Santa Claus is also known as Saint Nicholas or Father Christmas. The tradition of Santa Claus originated from the stories of Saint Nicholas, a Christian saint famous for his acts of charity. He was born in the third century, about 280 years after the death of Jesus, in the city of Myra. Having lost his parents at an early age, Nicholas placed his faith in Jesus Christ. He grew up to become a Christian leader, and he loved giving gifts to children.
