यह हमारे नहीं, मौलाना अबुल कलाम आज़ाद के शब्द है और उनके इन शब्दों के अनुसार, यह मात्र पर्वतारोहियों की बात नहीं है, बल्कि हमारे ज्ञान और शिक्षा की यात्रा के लिए भी उतनी ही महत्त्वपूर्ण बात है। जिसके कारण, हम प्रत्येक वर्ष 11 नवंबर को राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा दिवस मनाते हैं।

अब विचार किजिए, यदि प्रत्येक बच्चा और युवा अपने सपनों के शिखर पर पहुँचने के लिए बस किताबों तक सीमित रह जाए, तो समाज कैसे आगे बढ़ेगा? सच्ची शिक्षा तो वही है जो जिज्ञासा, साहस और समाज के प्रति जिम्मेदारी की शक्ति देती है।

क्यों मनाया जाता है राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा दिवस?

मौलाना अबुल कलाम आज़ाद एक विद्वान, स्वतंत्रता सेनानी और शिक्षाविद थे। IIT और UGC की स्थापना में उनकी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका थी। उन्होंने स्वतंत्र भारत को आकार देने में प्रमुख भूमिका निभाई थी।

भारत के पहले शिक्षा मंत्री के रूप में, उन्होंने ग्रामीण गरीबों और लड़कियों को शिक्षा प्रदान करने पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया। मौलाना आजा़द की प्राथमिकताओं में साक्षरता को प्रोत्साहन देना, चौदह वर्षों तक के सभी बच्चों के लिए मुफ्त और अनिवार्य शिक्षा सुनिश्चित करना, व्यावसायिक प्रशिक्षण और सार्वभौमिक प्राथमिक शिक्षा का विस्तार करने पर जोर देना यह सब सम्मिलित था।

मौलाना आज़ाद का मानना था कि, शिक्षा नौकरी पाने या गुण प्राप्त करने के साथ साथ यह व्यक्तित्व निर्माण, समाज में परिवर्तन लाने और ज्ञान को क्रिया में परिवर्तित करने की पद्धति है।

उन्होंने कहा:
“Education imparted by heart can bring revolution in the society.”।

अर्थात, हृदय से दी गई शिक्षा समाज में क्रांति ला सकती है। और सच्ची शिक्षा स्वयं के साथ-साथ समाज और पर्यावरण के लिए कर्तव्य निभाने के लिए भी आवश्यक है। और उनके इन्हीं विचारों के सम्मान में राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा दिवस मनाया जाता है।

कहानी: छोटा कदम, बड़ा परिवर्तन

अब विचार किजिए, हम सब के घरों में ऐसे कित्येक पुराने उपकरण पड़े होंगे। वो ए.सी. जो अब ठंड नहीं देता, या फ्रिज जो बस धूल जमा कर रहा है, या मोबाइल जो मात्र कैमरा और संदेश के लिए ही बचा है। फिर हम विचार करते हैं, “चलो, इन्हें फेंक देते हैं।”

परंतु, हम यह विचार नहीं करते कि, उस पुराने से क्या नवीन किया जा सकता हैं। जिस प्रकार कचरे में जाने वाली वस्तुओं से हम कभी शो-पीस, वॉल-पीस, कोई सुंदर चित्र बनाते हैं, अर्थात यह कचरे से कला हो गई, तो उसी प्रकार पुराने उपकरणों का भी कुछ हो सकता है यह विचार क्यों नहीं करते हम?

इसका अर्थ, हमारी शिक्षा किताबों तक ही सीमित रहती है।

परंतु, वास्तव में हमारे ज्ञान और विचारों का हमारे जीवन में परिवर्तन लाने के लिए उपयोग करने की शक्ति होनी चाहिए।
