दशहरा 2025: ई-कचरे का रावण और BestIAm®

दशहरा एक ऐसा उत्सव है जिसे विजयदशमी भी कहा जाता है। यह भारत के मुख्य त्योहारों में से एक है। जब दशहरा का नाम लिया जाता है, तब बचपन की स्मृतियाँ ताजा़ हो जाती है, जहां रामलीला का भव्य मंच, दिओं से सजे मेले और चारों दिशाओं की जगमहाट होती थी…।
इन सब से भी पूर्व हमें स्मरण आते हैं- भगवान राम, उनका धनुष-बाण और रावण दहन!
परंतु, आज का रावण कौन है? उसके दस सिर कहां छिपे हैं? और उसे पराजित करने में हमारी सहायता कौन करेगा?
दशहरा की कथा
शारदीय नवरात्र के नौं दिवस माँ भगवती के व्रत करने के बाद दसवें दिन, अर्थात दशहरे पर भगवान राम की पूजा की जाती है और दशहरे का पर्व धूमधाम से मनाया जाता है। हिंदू धर्म में विजयादशमी को पाप पर पुण्य की विजय के प्रतीक के रूप में एवं प्रत्येक वर्ष आश्विन मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की दशमी को इसे दशहरे के रूप में मनाते हैं।
चौदाह वर्ष के वनवास के मध्य लंकापति रावण ने जब माता सीता का अपहरण किया, तो भगवान राम ने हनुमान जी को माता सीता की खोज करने के लिए भेजा। हनुमान जी को माता सीता का पता लगाने में सफलता प्राप्त हुई और उन्होंने रावण को लाख समझाया कि माता सीता को सम्मान के साथ प्रभु श्रीराम के पास भेज दें। परंतु, रावण ने हनुमानजी की एक न मानी और अपने मृत्यु को निमंत्रण दे डाला।
मर्यादा पुरुषोत्तम श्रीराम ने जिस दिवस रावण का अंत किया, उस दिवस पर शारदीय नवरात्र की दशमी तिथि थी। राम जी ने नौं दिवसों तक माँ दुर्गा की उपासनी की और फिर दसवें दिवस पर रावण पर विजय प्राप्त किया। इसी कारण, इस त्योहार को विजयादशमी के नाम से मनाया जाता है। रावण के बुरे कर्मों पर श्रीराम जी की अच्छाइयों की विजय हुई।
इस दिवस, रावण के साथ-साथ उसके पुत्र मेघनाद और भ्राता कुंभकरण के पुतले भी दहन किए जाते हैं।
वैसे, रावण के दस सिर, अर्थात- काम, क्रोध, लोभ, मोह, मद, मत्सर, अहंकार, आलस्य, अन्याय और हिंसा।
परंतु, आज ये दस सिर नवीन रूप में हमारे घरों में दिखते हैं।
कैसे?
उत्तर है- टूटा टीवी, पुराना पंखा, धूल खाता संगणक, जंग लगा फ्रीज़, पुराना मिक्सर, बंद पड़ा मोबाइल, बिगडा हुआ इन्वर्टर, ब्लूटूथ स्पीकर, जो खटखटाता हैं। और ये सब एकत्रित आकर ई-कचरे का रावण बनाते हैं, जिसे हम स्वयं ही प्रोत्साहन दे रहे हैं।
ई-कचरे का दहन और BestIAm®

तो इस दशहरे पर एक संकल्प लिजिए, जैसे- “हम रावण के पुतले के साथ-साथ ई-कचरा रावण भी समाप्त करेंगे। रिसाइक्लिंग और रिफर्बिशिंग को अपनाएँगे, और धरती माँ को स्वच्छ रखेंगे”।

Dussehra 2025: The E-Waste Ravana and BestIAm®

Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashami, is one of India’s most celebrated festivals. The very mention of Dussehra evokes childhood memories—the grandeur of Ramlila stages, fairs illuminated with lamps, and the glitter spreading in all directions.
But before all this, our minds remember Lord Ram, his bow and arrows, and the burning of Ravana!
But today, who is Ravana? Where are his ten heads? And who will help us defeat him?
The Story of Dussehra
After observing the nine days of Sharadiya Navratri, Vijayadashami marks the day of Lord Ram’s victory. In Hindu tradition, it symbolizes the triumph of good over evil. People celebrate it every year on the Dashami of the Shukla Paksha in Ashwin month.
During Lord Ram’s 14-year exile, Ravana kidnapped Sita. Lord Ram sent Hanuman ji to search for her, and Hanuman successfully found her. Despite repeated warnings to release Sita with respect, Ravana defied Hanuman and invited his own destruction.
On the day Lord Ram defeated Ravana, it was the Dashami of Sharadiya Navratri. Ram had worshipped Goddess Durga for nine days and achieved victory on the tenth day. This is why the festival is called Vijayadashami—the day when Lord Ram’s virtues triumphed over Ravana’s evil deeds.
On this day, the effigies of Ravana, his son Meghnad, and brother Kumbhkaran are also burnt.
The Ten Heads of Ravana Today
Ravana’s ten heads represented lust, anger, greed, attachment, pride, jealousy, ego, laziness, injustice, and violence. Today, these “heads” appear in a modern form—broken TVs, old fans, dusty computers, rusty fridges, old mixers, unused mobiles, faulty inverters, and Bluetooth speakers.
All these items accumulate to form the Ravana of e-waste, which we ourselves are unknowingly supporting.
